Timothy Hennigan started working as a part-time assistant with Gates Law Offices while in college. Through the years he worked off and on with the practice and joined as a full-time attorney in 2010.
Mr. Hennigan has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, where he graduated Summa Cum-Laude. His law degree is from Regent University, where he graduated in the top five percent of his class.
After his first year of law school Mr. Hennigan obtained a coveted internship with the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) where he worked on a variety of constitutional issues. After his second year, he split his time between internships with a personal injury law firm and Gates Law offices. During the school year Mr. Hennigan served as a graduate assistant for some of his professors. This experience gives him a vast background in issues of Constitutional Law, general practice, bankruptcy, and more.
In 2011, Mr. Hennigan spearheaded the firm’s expansion in opening a Petersburg office. His primary areas of practice include criminal, traffic, restoration of civil rights, personal injury, bankruptcy, and civil litigation. He is often open to taking cases in other areas of law as well, continuing Gates Law Offices’ reputation of being a capable and varied practice.
Mr. Hennigan lives with his wife and fellow attorney, and their young children in Chester, Virginia. When he’s not working he enjoys time with his family and playing music.
